Astroemeria Flower

The Meaning of the Alstroemeria Flower

At the heart of Astramía Counselling is the delicate yet resilient alstroemeria flower, also known as the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas. Chosen not just for its beauty but for its symbolism, this flower perfectly represents the soul of my practice: gentle, grounded, and deeply resilient.

Each petal of the alstroemeria stands for values that define the work I do: empathy, understanding, trust, resilience, connection, and transformation. It mirrors the journey many of my clients walk through crossing cultures, rebuilding after heartbreak, navigating change, and finding strength in vulnerability.

The curved stem and intertwining leaves reflect the messy, beautiful complexity of migration, relationships, and identity. Life doesn't always grow in a straight line, and healing certainly doesn’t either. But just like the alstroemeria, growth still happens, often in quiet, unexpected ways.

The flower sits inside a gentle arc, embracing it like a safe container, symbolizing the emotional support space I provide. A space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Where you’re met with warmth, not judgment.

The name “Astramía” is a blend of “astro” (stars) and “mía” (mine), speaking to the inner light each person carries, even through the darkest seasons. It is your safe place to reconnect with that light, your voice, and your purpose.

This logo isn’t just a design. It’s a promise that your journey, no matter how tangled or tender, is worthy of support, of compassion, and of healing.

Welcome to Astramía Counselling, where healing takes root and growth begins softly but surely.
