At Astramía Counselling, I offer trauma-informed psychosocial counselling for individuals who are navigating emotional distress, life transitions, and the long-term impact of stress or relational experiences.

1. Individual Psychosocial Counselling

One-to-one sessions focused on emotional understanding, regulation, and personal resilience.

These sessions may support clients who are experiencing:

  • Emotional overwhelm or chronic stress

  • Adjustment difficulties related to migration or relocation

  • Cross-cultural relationship challenges

  • Low self-esteem, confusion, or loss of direction

  • Lingering emotional impact of past experiences
     

Sessions are collaborative and client-centred, providing space to explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns at a pace that feels safe and respectful.

2. Expat & Migrant Emotional Support

Support specifically tailored to the emotional realities of living between cultures.

This service may be helpful for individuals navigating:

  • Culture shock and identity shifts

  • Loneliness, isolation, or lack of local support

  • Relationship strain linked to migration stress

  • Parenting challenges in a cross-cultural context

  • Emotional fatigue from adapting to a new system or environment
     

The focus is on emotional grounding, clarity, and resilience, not on clinical treatment.

3.Trauma-Informed Support After Emotional or Psychological Abuse

Non-clinical psychosocial support for individuals recovering from emotionally harmful or controlling relationships.

 

This work may include:

  • Understanding trauma responses and emotional triggers

  • Rebuilding self-trust and personal boundaries

  • Emotional stabilisation and grounding techniques

  • Processing relational patterns in a safe, contained way

 

This service does not replace specialised trauma therapy or crisis care. If intensive or clinical support is needed, referrals are encouraged and supported.

4. Support for Mothers & Caregivers

Emotional support for mothers and caregivers who are carrying a significant mental and emotional load.

Sessions may focus on:

  • Emotional exhaustion or burnout

  • Balancing caregiving with personal identity

  • Stress related to family transitions

  • Strengthening emotional regulation and self-compassion

 

The aim is to provide a supportive space where caregivers can reconnect with themselves and their own emotional needs.

5. Emotional Support During Legal or High-Conflict Situations

Psychosocial support for individuals navigating emotionally demanding processes such as:

  • Separation or divorce

  • Custody-related stress

  • High-conflict interpersonal situations

 

Sessions focus on emotional regulation, grounding, and clarity, not legal advice or psychological assessment. Clients are encouraged to seek appropriate legal or clinical support alongside this work when needed.

Professional Boundaries & Referrals

At Astramía Counselling, I offer trauma-informed psychosocial counselling for individuals who are navigating emotional distress, life transitions, and the long-term impact of stress or relational experiences.

My work is preventive and non-clinical in nature. I do not diagnose mental health disorders or provide medical or psychiatric treatment. Where appropriate, I support clients in seeking specialist or clinical care through their GP or other healthcare providers.

Session Format

  • Individual sessions (online or in-person, where available)

  • Sessions conducted in English

  • Paid and low-threshold options may be discussed depending on context
