More than a symbol. A reflection of what we carry.
Behind the Logo
THE FLOWER
ALSTROEMERIA
Also known as the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, the alstroemeria sits at the heart of the Astramía logo.
Its symbolism reflects six values that continue to shape the practice:
Empathy
Being met as a person, not simply as a problem to solve.
Understanding
Making room for the context behind what you are feeling.
Trust
Allowing a relationship to develop with honesty, safety and respect.
Resilience
Recognizing the ways you have continued, adapted and carried yourself through difficult seasons.
Connection
To yourself, to others, to culture, to belonging and to what matters to you.
Transformation
Not becoming someone entirely different, but allowing something new to grow from what you have lived through.
These meanings were part of the original Astramía identity and remain at the center of the practice today.
NOT ALL GROWTH IS LINEAR
The stems were never meant to be perfectly straight.
The curved stem and intertwining leaves represent something I see repeatedly in human experience.
Life rarely unfolds in a neat line.
Migration can bring opportunity alongside grief. A relationship can contain love and uncertainty at the same time. Motherhood can bring deep connection while changing your sense of self.
Starting again may feel hopeful one day and unfamiliar the next.
Growth can look much the same. Sometimes it is visible. Sometimes it happens quietly. Sometimes we circle around something more than once before understanding it differently.
The alstroemeria reminds us that a complicated path can still be a path of growth.
THE EMBRACING ARC
A space around what is still unfolding.
The flower in the Astramía logo rests within a gentle curved form.
It represents the supportive space around the person rather than something enclosing or defining them.
Counselling does not require you to arrive with everything understood. You can come with uncertainty, conflicting feelings, unfinished thoughts or simply the sense that something needs attention.
The space is there to hold the conversation while you find your own way through it.
THE NAME
ASTRAMIA
The name Astramía was created from two ideas:
Astro — stars
Mía — mine
Together, they speak to something deeply personal: the light that remains yours.
Some seasons, that light may feel distant. Perhaps life has become centered around surviving, adapting, caring for others or meeting expectations. Perhaps somewhere along the way, your own voice became quieter.
Astramía represents the possibility of reconnecting with what remains yours: your voice, values, identity, direction and sense of self.
THE COLOURS
Grounded in nature. Warmed by humanity.
Deep green reflects grounding, steadiness and growth.
Warm coral brings humanity, warmth and emotional presence.
Soft blush and natural neutrals create gentleness and space, allowing the stronger elements of the identity to breathe.
Together, the colors are intentionally quiet rather than clinical. They reflect the kind of environment Astramía aims to create: grounded enough to feel safe, and warm enough to feel human.
WHAT IT MEANS
The logo doesn't promise that healing will be simple.
It represents something quieter.
That your experience can be complicated and still deserve understanding.
That strength and vulnerability can exist together.
That starting again does not require erasing what came before.
And that sometimes growth begins simply by having enough space to hear yourself again.
The Astramía logo is a reminder of the philosophy behind the practice:
You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.
WHEREVER YOU ARE RIGHT NOW
There is room for your story here.
Astramía was created as a space for people navigating the places in life where things may no longer feel quite as they once did.
You do not need the perfect words, a clear explanation, or a finished plan.
We can begin with where you are.
